Moonwalk x Art Basel: A Big Week Ahead

blog.moonwalk.com

The Moonwalk team is in full force at Art Basel, in what will be an art-focused week for the platform. We’re looking forward to seeing you all there!

This week we’re excited to be delivering NFT collections + utility for a range of creators and brands - an established canvas artist, an AR game developer, and a Horror film franchise. Here’s what we’ve announced and are launching this week:

NFT Tickets

We’re powering NFT tickets at Maxim’s exclusive party at the SLS South Beach Hotel on Saturday December 4th, in partnership with leading New York artist Ryan Keeley.

Keeley, who has worked with Kendrick Lamar, Lauryn Hill and Gary Clark Jnr, is no stranger to NFT’s having launched his first collection in August 2020.

The NFT tickets form part of Keeley’s K3Holder project, a generative art collection with in-built utility that will be launched on Moonwalk in December.  K3hold3ers will include all-access to metaverse and real-life activations through Keeley’s personal network in the music and art world.

Keeley joins Damien Hirst as one of the first wave of canvas artists to launch generative NFT collections on the Ethereum network.

NFT’s meet Augmented Reality and Gaming

Philadelphia comic artist and game developer Rob Shields is launching Neon Wasteland, one of the first ever NFT-powered animated augmented reality comic books and retro future cyberpunk video games.

During Art Basel week, Shields is launching the first phase of this highly ambitious project - Neon Daemons - a generative NFT collection on Moonwalk platform. The collection combines a cyperpunk aesthetic across an array of neon-filled psychedelic skulls generated from over 100 hand-drawn features. The whitelisted presale drops Tuesday Nov 30th at 11am EST, and the main sale drops Wednesday Dec 1st at 11am EST.

NFT’s and Unlockable Content

This week we push forward our partnership with Hollywood game and NFT developer Boss Protocol.  Boss earlier announced that it is launching a generative NFT collection with unlockable content on Moonwalk for Masters of Horror brand “Hellraiser” here.

This week the project team released the artwork for the generative collection character “Pinhead”, the iconic Cenobite Hell Priest.  Also, the project has revealed the first phase of the project launch - the “Lament Boxes” - NFT unlockable content boxes that unlock physical and virtual content over time.  Boxes are an integral part of the Hellraiser brand - the Lament Configuration is a fictional puzzle box appearing in horror stories by Clive Barker, or in works based on his original stories, of which the best known of these boxes is Lemarchand's Box, which features prominently throughout the Hellraiser movie series.

Team Moonwalk will be in Miami meeting with creators, brands, and investors.  We’d love to see you there.  Here’s where you can find us throughout the week:

-       Tuesday: NFT BZL conference

-       Wednesday: DCentral conference

-       Thursday: The Gateway (NFT Now and Christie’s, powered by Blockparty)

-       Saturday: Maxim event at the SLS

And otherwise, around Brickell, Wynwood, and South Beach. Let’s get in touch!
